LATEST UPDATE!!! ‘Deadliest Catch’: Captain Keith’s Current Health. Fans Worried!!
There is only one episode left of Deadliest Catch this season and many fans are concerned about Captain Keith Colburn‘s health. He experienced a major medical emergency while out at sea and viewers are waiting to hear about what caused the episode. Continue reading to see what has been revealed and whether fans will learn the cause of his health scare.
What Is Wrong With Captain Keith?
Captain Keith Colburn suffered from what many fans believed to be a cardiac event or stroke during the episode that aired on October 1. He and his brother, Monte “Mouse” Colburn, had an argument. Then, Keith collapsed onboard the boat.
Following his unexpected collapse, he was seen talking to his brother, looking rather scared. He told Monte that he couldn’t feel his left side at all. This caused Monte to rush their boat, the F/V Wizard, to shore so that Keith could get medical attention.
In the next episode of Deadliest Catch, viewers saw Captain Keith in the hospital. Doctors didn’t believe that he had a heart attack because he was negative for troponin. Troponin is an enzyme that is elevated during cardiac events and typically shows up when you have a heart attack.
There was some speculation by the doctors that Keith could have had an ischemic attack or mini-stroke, but they recommended that he see a specialist. However, the episode didn’t bring viewers any kind of closure as to what actually happened to Captain Keith.
Yet another episode aired last night and fans still didn’t have any real answers about what was going on with Keith. A voiceover informed viewers that it was assumed to be an ischemic attack, but that the captain was still having tests done.
Deadliest Catch Serving Up Health Scares This Season
Captain Keith’s problems haven’t been the only medical scare on this season of Deadliest Catch. Deckhand Chino, who is on Jake Anderson’s boat the Titan Explorer, was hit hard by a crab pot. Cameras caught the crab pot swinging into him and he screamed out in pain.
Crab pots can actually weigh as much as 800 pounds, so being hit by one can be a huge problem. As his crew rushed to his aid, he told them that he couldn’t feel his legs.
They wound up moving him to get him inside and a producer on the Discovery show asked him how he was feeling. He told them that he could feel some, but wasn’t able to move his legs properly. The crew got him off the boat for help.
The finale is sure to be an exciting one. The season finale of Deadliest Catch airs on Tuesday, October 22 on Discovery Channel. Hopefully, fans will get an answer as to how Captain Keith and the others are doing.
