Deadliest Arrest: Here’s the Shocking Cause of Death of Star Tom Brossard
Deadliest Catch’s Jake Anderson was left heartbroken after finding out his best friend, Tom Brossard, had died. His wife, Jenna, called to tell him Brossard “didn’t make it” after a heart attack.
Years after helping Jake Anderson rebuild the F/V Saga, Deadliest Catch star Tom Brossard died in January 2024. The news was revealed to captain Anderson while filming the Discovery Channel show.
Tom Brossard dies aged 64
Tom Brossard died at the age of 64 in Calbayog, Philippines, in January 2024. The former F/V Saga engineer, from Seattle, worked on the boat for several years, and spent most of his life on ships.
An obituary reads: “Tom loved living in the Philippines with his wife and her family, spending time with his children and grandchildren and working on the Saga. He also loved his cars – especially his Corvettes.”
It continued: “It was hard work but he enjoyed working in the industry and with the boat’s crew.”
His best friend, Jake Anderson, received a call from his wife, telling him Brossard had suddenly died.
Jenna told Jake, “He just had a heart attack or something. It just happened. She’s at the hospital. He didn’t make it.”
It comes just 12 months after Brossard helped Jake rebuild the F/V Saga.
An emotional, teary Jake said: “Tom was my best friend. Him and I rebuilt the f****** Saga. We rebuilt the bow, we rebuilt the stern, we rebuilt the bathroom, we rebuilt the floors.”
A clip was shown on Deadliest Catch of the two building the old boat, where Anderson said: “It’s a blessing, he’s taught all of us how to weld and fit. He’s the best cutter in the whole of Washington state.”
Brossard became Anderson’s best friend, as well as his engineer. They bonded while rebuilding The Saga, but the engineer sadly leaves behind his wife, Josephine, a son, two daughters, and grandkids.
After hearing the news, Jake asked for Shaya to be brought up to the captain deck “fast.”
