SUMMARY

- While Bloodline may no longer be available for streaming, other spinoffs of Deadliest Catch can still be enjoyed on different platforms.
Deadliest Catch: Bloodline was supposed to be the next entry in the wildly popular Deadliest Catch reality TV franchise, but now it’s nowhere to be found, and there’s a pretty upsetting reason why. Deadliest Catch has had three spinoff series since it premiered in 2005: Dungeon Cove, The Viking Returns, and Bloodline. Bloodline premiered in April 2020 and lasted for three seasons. The show follows Josh Harris and Casey McManus, captains of one of the most popular boats on Deadliest Catch, the F/V Cornelia Marie.
Phil Harris’ death on Deadliest Catch was one of the most memorable and tragic moments in the series, and when he died, the boat passed to his son, Josh. Bloodline depicts this relationship with Josh and Casey finding old fishing notes Phil left behind that lead the pair to go hunting for tuna in Hawaii and learn more about the time Phil spent fishing there. The series had a much different feel from the main show and was more of an adventure series that felt slightly scripted. But it was still popular, and a surprise when it was suddenly canceled.
Deadliest Catch: Bloodline Was Canceled After Josh Harris’ Legal Troubles Came To Light
Harris Served Nine Months In Prison In 1999
In September 2022, Discovery told Radar that Josh Harris would no longer be a part of Deadliest Catch because of past allegations and criminal charges that had recently come to light regarding the fishing captain. The F/V Cornelia Marie suddenly disappeared from Deadliest Catch, Harris’ contract was not renewed, and Bloodline was canceled, all for the same reason: Discovery uncovered that Harris had gone to prison for nine months in 1999 after being convicted of sexually assaulting a minor in 1998.
