The much-awaited season 6 of 1000-lb Sisters premiered on October 8, on TLC. The first episode was titled Life is Going to Be Gouda and documented Tammy and Amy’s weight loss journey. The Slaton sisters had seemingly lost a few hundred pounds and were taking more steps towards their health, such as skin grafting surgery.

The first episode also saw Tammy and Amy trying to summon Tammy’s ex-husband, Caleb’s spirit by using haunted dolls, Bonnie and Jacob; and an app that helped people talk to spirits. Caleb passed away in June 2023, leaving Tammy devastated because he was her best friend, according to her statement with People magazine.

In their spirit-calling shenanigan on episode 1 of 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Tammy and Amy introduced their dolls and explained how they used them. They also said they didn’t want any evil spirits in their house. Fans of the show criticized the sisters online for not wanting evil spirits in the house yet trying to summon ghosts and keeping haunted dolls.

“How do you not want evil spirits in your home but you own 2 haunted dolls and are dabbling in the paranormal?? Make it make sense to me,” one X user said.

“Now why would you buy haunted dolls??” another user wrote.

“She said she doesn’t want evil Spirits in her house so explain the haunted dolls. You already got them in the house,” a third user mentioned.

“A connection to the spiritual world? Baby, those are demons,” another fan wrote.

In a confessional, Tammy and Amy told the producers that they saw the same ghosts sometimes, including an old lady called Suzzana. Some fans of 1000-lb Sisters commented on that too.

“Lmao what is even going on. dolls? an app for the spirit world? an old woman named Suzanne? plsssss,” a fan said.

“A ghost chat app, I guess whatever makes one feel better,” another fan said.

“That spirit talking is actually a trucker name Steve driving down a nearby highway cause why did it sound like a CB radio?,” a third fan said.

What did Tammy and Amy do with the haunted dolls and the spirit-talking app on 1000-lb Sisters ?

In episode 1 of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy said Amy went to her house that morning to pick up her dolls, Bonnie and Jacob. She added that the dolls connected them to the spirit world. She also introduced an app, which she said had helped them do the same. She mentioned that through the app they could hear spirits speak.

In a confessional, the show producer asked them if they ever felt the same spirits. Tammy replied that they could feel one right now, and that was a woman. Amy added that she was an old grey-haired woman and her name was Suzzana. Tammy confirmed that she was wearing a white dress.

Tammy then said in another confessional of 1000-lb Sisters that she was mad at Caleb for dying on her and leaving her a widow. She said she couldn’t be mad at him now because it wasn’t his fault. The sisters then tried summoning him by putting the app on. They started listening to the static coming from the app and asked who they were talking to.

Tammy said they had to be careful because they didn’t want any evil spirits in their house. When Amy called out for Caleb one last time, the phone app threw out an “I’m here”. Tammy took this as a sign from Caleb, she said that it meant he was there and was watching over them.

New episodes of 1000-lb Sisters season 6 come out on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET, on TLC.
