She weighed over 600 during her debut in the series. Shockingly, the reality TV star reached 712 Lbs after a few months and ended up in an ICU. Tammy’s lungs gave up, and she spent many weeks in a medically induced coma. Amy and her other siblings were even making arrangements for her funeral. Fortunately, she got a new life after waking up from the coma.

The TLC star began taking her health seriously after the wake-up call and returned to the rehab facility. Tammy still gives all the credit to this wake-up call for her transformation. She made major changes to her diet and followed her doctors’ advice to qualify for the surgery. Tammy’s biggest challenge was to weigh less than 550 Lbs to get under the knife. She made huge efforts and lost 115 Lbs within 30 days.
