1000lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton shocks fans as she confirms heartbreaking death in the family
Amy delivered the sad news during episode four of the latest series of 1000lb Sisters, with fans rushing to social media to post messages of condolence and lend their support to the grieving star
1000lb sisters’ viewers have been left heartbroken after Amy Slaton announced a sad death in the family.
Fans of the US reality show, which airs on TLC, were told by Amy – sister of Tammy Slaton – that their dog, Little Bit, had tragically passed away.
The revelation came during episode four of the new series, when Tammy disclosed that their chihuahua had passed in April 2022 – almost a year from when the new episode finally aired.
The 35-year-old explained how she had picked up Little Bit from Granny’s house, but when she got her to the car, the pooch fell over and stopped breathing.
Sadly, Amy’s husband Michael Halterman was unable to wake her up.
Amy said of the pup, who she’d had since 2000: “Little Bit was literally my daughter. She might not have been human, but she was my daughter.”
She said on the show: “Something really terrible happened. Little Bit just passed away. She was my everything.”
After hearing her sister’s sad news, Tammy said: “My heart stopped for her.”
Little Bit was such an integral part of the family that she even walked Amy down the aisle at her wedding.
So, it was only fitting that the family held a memorial service for the dog in a calm green space.
But the group wasn’t too impressed when one funeral attender said: “I ain’t never been to no damn dog funeral!”
Another mourner exclaimed: “I wasn’t close to the dog.”
Posting to social media about the news, Amy wrote: “RIP Little Bit. I love you so much. 2000-2022.”
Fans rushed to share their messages of condolence and lend support to the grieving star.
“Little Bit died? I’m devastated,” one wrote on social media.

Another said: “I honestly cannot believe Little Bit died… RIP.”
A third fan shared: “Got to show some love and have good memories of Little Bit after 22 years. It’s sad she had to go, it’s not going to be easy to replace a dog like Little Bit.”
Another added: “Hearing about Little Bit passing away has tears in my eyes!”
