1000-Lb Sisters: Money Won’t be the Only Problem Tammy Slaton Will Face For Her Head to Toe Skin Surgery After Losing Over 500 lbs
As Tammy Slaton prepares to undertake a risky and costly skin removal surgery, she has another major diet issue to fix.
1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton is still a long way ahead in her journey to get comfortable in her skin. The younger among the Slaton sisters wasn’t willing to put in the effort when the show first kicked off in 2020. However, she surprised fans of the show by shedding almost 500 pounds by Season 5. In the trailer of the upcoming sixth season, Slaton will face some troubles as she considers skin removal surgery.
It was revealed in the trailer that the money and risk involved may pose a major problem for the reality TV sensation. However, in her recent Instagram post, she also revealed another issue that is hindering her weight loss journey currently.
1000-Lb Sisters‘ Tammy Slaton Opens Up About Her ‘Protein’ Issue
1000-Lb Sisters‘ Tammy Slaton has already proved herself to be an inspiration to people living with obesity as she went through a remarkable weight-loss journey. According to Hello! magazine, Tammy Slaton weighed a shocking 725 pounds at her heaviest. However, the reality TV star has since lost almost 500 pounds, managing to overcome her addiction to food.
In a recent Instagram video, with the title of her caption reading “Bariatric Journey Tip”, Slaton went on to share another one of her major issues. She revealed to her fans that she was going through a protein issue that was impeding her journey. She needed to eat more protein but the diet was seemingly more than what her body would allow.
For people dealing with a similar issue, Slaton also promotes a product, which offers protein waters with 20 grams of protein. She shared that the product, Bari Balance, has made it easier to hit her protein goals. While the product promotion will definitely earn her some money, it appears authentic since Slaton is endorsing the product from her experience.
Slaton has recently changed her Instagram strategy to help her fans with the bariatric journey. She uses her influencer power to inspire her followers with lengthier video content. Her protein issue is just one of the issues affecting her. She has to deal with a costly skin removal surgery, which fans will get to see in Season 6 of the show.
Amidst these challenges, Slaton also had to deal with the loss of her husband, Caleb Willingham. He was also on a weight-loss journey with her. However, Tammy posted on Instagram in July 2023 that he had passed away.
Tammy Slaton’s Costly Skin Removal Surgery Has Risk Elements Too
1000-Lb Sisters Season 6 trailer revealed that Tammy Slaton would need to undergo at least five surgeries, each one lasting hours, to remove her excess skin. The surgeries would incur a total cost of $85,000 for the Slaton sister. The huge cost alone might stop Slaton from her dream of getting her skin removed.
Slaton’s weight loss journey was pretty quick which left a great amount of loose skin on her body. It would require a very complicated procedure to remove them and pose significant health risks. According to Mirror, she might face several health complications including losing skin sensation, blood clots, bleeding, bruising, and scarring. It could also keep Slaton on bed rest for months.
1000-lb Sisters Season 6 will hit TLC on October 8, 2024. The earlier episodes are available for streaming on Max and Hulu.
