‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton Reveals Importance Of Her Selfies
Tammy Slaton recently shared a huge milestone with her fans on social media. Now, she is defending her reasoning behind sharing progress pictures of her weight loss. The 1000-Lb. Sisters star opened up about how far she’s come and she’s not afraid to flaunt her success. Here is what she had to say.
Tammy Slaton Claps For Herself
The TLC star took to Instagram to talk about why she shares so many pictures of herself. “I take a lot of pictures, a lot of selfies, and I do not [take the photos] because I think I look good — well, I do, a little bit — but mostly because I want to remember how big I was, what I looked like,” she said in the video. “And I reflect, ‘Dude, I was huge.’ I lost 500 pounds, like, I would not be able to sit in this chair.”
At one point in her journey, Tammy said that she “lost herself.” She turned to alcohol and continued to eat poorly. “Damage in two different ways,” she said. “It would be so easy to fall back into bad habits and gain all the weight back. Then, what was this all for? Wasted time. Wasted money. Wasted effort. Waste.”
She went on to talk about how making a “lifestyle change” is what led to her success. Then Tammy Slaton ended her message with some words of inspiration for her followers.
The TLC star said, “I had a lot of demons, inner demons, that I had to fight. And I’m still fighting. You’re not alone. You can do anything once you put your mind to it. Never give up.”
1000-Lb. Sisters Star Shed Over 500 Pounds
1000-Lb. Sisters fans have followed Tammy’s progress since the show premiered in 2020. The reality TV show has documented her weight loss journey alongside her sister, Amy Slaton-Halterman. Now, both sisters are sitting around the same weight.
Tammy has lost more than 500 pounds now. At her highest weight, she was 725 pounds. Earlier this month, she talked about how difficult the process has been. Getting approved for bariatric surgery was hard for the TLC star.
“The progress of getting approved for surgery wasn’t easy. I worked my butt off,” she told Us Weekly earlier this year. “I was starving a lot of the time and my hard work paid off.”
She is aiming to use her hard work and success to inspire others to take better care of themselves. In her latest video, she informed followers that her page is a safe place that she uses to promote positivity.
TLC hasn’t announced any information about Season 6 of 1000-Lb. Sisters. However, it is expected to premiere later this year. The show is sure to look different than the previous season with Tammy Slaton’s massive success.
