1000 Lb Sisters: TLC EXPOSED — Using Doubles To Reshoot Scenes!
TLC has been in deep waters earlier. There have been many people who belong to different reality shows accusing the network of scripting. Well, it is, to some extent, unethical because it invalidates the purpose of watching reality TV. Well, someone revealed the secrets associated with 1000 Lb Sisters. Tons of things happen behind the scenes fans don’t know of.
There are videos creating a buzz around the internet about what happened behind the cameras. It’s been a couple of years since fans began watching the show, and I still had no idea about it. Well, a Tiktok user came in the limelight lately about exposing how the show uses doubles to re-shoot some scenes for the show.
1000 Lb Sisters: Why Is TLC Using Doubles For The Show?
While 1000 Lb Sisters began airing only a couple of years ago, it gets immense love from the audience. Fans have seen Amy and Tammy undergo tremendous change. Lots has happened in the past few years. However, a new TikTok video proved that there is still a lot that the audience doesn’t know about the show. Despite it being reality TV, the crew has to “re-shoot” some scenes.
A user by the name of Grant Everdeen revealed how 1000 Lb Sisters uses doubles to re-create some scenes. They hire these people and place them with their backs faced to the camera in the same clothes as the person they are substituting for. The Tiktoker mentioned they do so to maintain “continuity.” Similarly, the production chooses an interview house near to casts’ location and rents it for confessionals.
Then, the production crew comes into play and designs the place and places furniture in a certain way. The floor also has markings for continuity purposes to match the shots that took place earlier during the filming. Grant ended up being the double for Chris Combs and shared these details about the process and his experience with the 1000 Lb Sisters crew.
1000 Lb Sisters: Tammy Also Reveals Dos & Don’ts Of Behind The Scenes!
While shooting for 1000 Lb Sisters, the cast members have to ensure a lot of things. While they are told to keep major spoilers under wraps while posting on their social media before the episode airs, there are other things they need to do as well. Tammy Slaton mentioned how the cast is now allowed to make any external changes to themselves.
Also, Tammy said that she couldn’t cut her hair during filming unless she was doing it on camera. She was also not allowed to have piercings or other things. As mentioned above, doing such things messes up the continuity process. Fans don’t notice such things because the production crew carries out this process smoothly.
